EU looks to the stars

Major news this last week out of Brussels. The European Commission has given member states greater freedom to subsidise companies and projects decarbonising industry and building up the bloc’s cleantech infrastructure. It’s a big step – particularly after EU policymakers voted to urge more action on the Clean Industrial Deal - and a sign that, after some wobbly months when it comes to impact-adjacent policy, more funds may be opening up.
