2150 closes €210m fund for greener cities: ‘We’re building companies of scale’

London-based venture firm 2150 has closed its second fund at €210m, making it one of the largest early-stage impact investment vehicles in Europe.

2150, which announced the first close of the fund in March last year, has attracted a global LP base of institutional investors and family offices.

Investors include Viessmann Generations Group, Chr. Augustinus Fabrikker, Novo Holdings, the Danish sovereign fund EIFO, Security Trading Oy, Islandbridge Capital, Carbon Equity, and the US-based Church Pension Group.

“For Fund II, we have continued to partner with leading institutional investors across Europe, North America, and Asia, and who have invested in this category for multiple cycles,” said Christian Jolck, co-founder and partner at 2150.

“This combination gives us strong conviction in 2150’s ability to deliver attractive long-term returns and a long-standing investment platform,” Jolck continued.

2150’s core thesis is to solve sustainability challenges facing the urban and industrial environments.

“Our exceptional founders are building companies of scale,” said Jolck.

The firm’s portfolio includes home energy unicorn 1Komma5º, EV battery swapping startup Vammo, and cooling tech company Blue Frontier.
