Decarbonization Partners invests $100m in Osapiens – creating Europe’s latest green tech unicorn

BlackRock– and Temasek-backed Decarbonization Partners has led a $100m Series C round in German green tech company Osapiens.

The investment puts Osapiens’ valuation north of $1bn, company spokesperson Christian Feuring confirmed to Impact Loop over the phone, making it Europe's latest climate tech unicorn.

“This investment is a big moment for Osapiens as we expand and push into more markets,” Feuring said. “BlackRock and Temasek bring huge networks in the US and Singapore which is just as if not more valuable than the investment itself.”

Founded in 2018, Mannheim-based Osapiens develops enterprise software designed to help large companies manage sustainability reporting, regulatory compliance, and operational processes across complex global supply chains.

The company’s expansion coincides with a wave of new EU sustainability and supply-chain rules for large companies, including the CSRD, CSDDD and the EU Deforestation Regulation.

Dr. Meghan Sharp, global head and chief investment officer of Decarbonization Partners, said Osapiens was "redefining” how companies navigate increasingly complex supply chains and regulations.

“Enterprises around the world are looking for trusted, scalable software to meet rising regulatory, sustainability and decarbonization expectations,” she said in a press statement.

Decarbonization Partners will join existing backers Goldman Sachs, which led Osapiens’ $120m Series B in 2024, and Armira, which backed the company’s $27m Series A in 2023.

Osapiens employs more than 500 people and works with over 2,000 customers worldwide.
