EQT appears to have launched successor to €3bn impact fund

EQT looks to be laying the groundwork for a successor to its impact-focused EQT Future fund, according to corporate disclosures reviewed by Impact Loop.

The GP entity "EQT Future II" – registered in Luxembourg – appeared as a wholly-owned subsidiary in EQT's 2025 annual and sustainability report, published this week.

The EQT Future II was also briefly mentioned in the firm's 2024 sustainability report. The disclosures suggests EQT is laying the groundwork for a second vintage of the strategy, though no fundraise has been publicly announced.

EQT did not immediately reply to our request for comment.

What is EQT Future?

EQT Future is EQT's impact-oriented buyout strategy, launched in 2021. The Article 9 fund targets revenue-generating growth stage companies across two themes: climate and nature and health and wellbeing.

The fund takes a longer-hold approach than EQT's flagship buyout vehicles, designed for companies where sustainable transformation requires more time.

EQT Future I held its final close in March 2024 at €3bn in total commitments, or €3.6bn including co-investments – making it the largest generalist impact fund on record at the time.

Its current portfolio includes Desotec, which removes industrial pollutants using circular technology, and intercity bus operator Flix. The strategy is led by Simon Griffiths, partner and head of the EQT Future advisory team.
