Impact Loop’s AI journalist avatar takes gold at Lovable and Project Europe hackathon

This Monday, Swedish AI company Lovable (the world's fastest-growing startup with a € 1.5b valuation) and early-stage fund Project Europe held a hackathon in Stockholm. The brief: 20 teams, 20 hours, and €20,000 in prize money.

Days before the event kicked off, several teams were still scrambling for ideas, posting last-minute calls for input on LinkedIn. That's where we came in.

Impact Loop proposed a concept to one of the teams: an AI-powered newsroom with a journalist avatar capable of conducting interviews and producing articles. The concept was initially declined by two teams, but accepted by a smaller group calling themselves "Good Omen".

The team consists of entrepreneurs and developers Aaron Jones, Giovanni Funchaland, and Marko Stapfner. Jones is also the co-founder of Yepic AI, a startup making AI avatars for video.

With Impact Loop on site, work began on Monday. By Tuesday, Good Omen had been named the winner.

In under 20 hours, the team built not just one tool but two: both the avatar newsroom concept and an AI video platform allowing users to create films and edit them through live-prompting.

Impact Loop has acquired full rights to the journalist tool and plans to develop it further in collaboration with Good Omen. We will, of course, keep you in the loop about the progress!
