Suma Capital closes €210m climate tech fund – chasing industrial and mobility scaleups
Despite climate tech funding headwinds, Barcelona-based impact investor Suma Capital has raised a new €210m fund for industrial decarbonisation.
Barcelona-based Suma Capital has closed its latest climate tech fund at €210m – 40% above its €150m target – to support European scale-ups tackling industrial decarbonisation.
Investors in the fund, dubbed SC Net Zero Ventures I, include Spanish oil and gas giant Repsol, the European Investment Fund, and Spanish public institutions such as ICO, CDTI, ICF, IVF, and Seed Bizkaia.
Natalia Ruiz, partner at Suma Capital, said the fund reinforces the firm’s role as a "reference partner" for climate tech scaleups.
"We support climate scaleups with validated technology and commercial traction, driving their expansion and their long-term environmental and competitive impact,” she said.
Looking for industrial and mobility startups
The new fund targets industrial and B2B companies within low-carbon mobility and transport electrification, decarbonization of industrial processes, renewable energies and storage and digital technologies for smart management and optimization of the energy system.
The fund offers flexible financing, strategic support, and access to a network of industrial partners to accelerate growth and adoption of Net Zero solutions.
Early investments include HESSTEC (energy storage), Corinex (grid digitalisation), H2SITE (green hydrogen), and V2C (smart EV charging).
