Europe’s largest women-led VC appoints new partner to launch first impact fund

At a time when some investors are abandoning climate, Revaia, Europe’s largest women-led VC, is diving in.

The Paris-based firm has appointed Jean-Patrice Bellier as partner to lead its first dedicated impact fund, which will focus on the energy transition.

Bellier joins Revaia after 15 years leading projects in energy, sustainability, and manufacturing at global consultancy Bain & Company.

“Joining Revaia is a natural extension of the work I have been doing for years in the energy transition,” Bellier said, adding he left consulting because he felt he wanted to “contribute more directly” to financing the green transition.

New impact fund

A spokesperson for Revaia told Impact Loop that the new fund will focus on growth-stage opportunities across the energy transition and climate tech.

The fund size has not yet been finalised, and it is too early to provide guidance on the timing of a first close, the person said, adding that Revaia will communicate these details “once the strategy and team are fully in place and discussions with LPs progress.”

Elina Berrebi, founding partner at Revaia, said the firm wants to use its growth know-how in more areas than just software and tech, and “keep developing Revaia into a platform that supports sustainable innovation.”

Launched in 2018, Revaia has already made some investments in the climate space, including its participation in carbon accounting platform Deepki’s €150m Series C round in 2022.
